Greetings everybody. I recently brought my 2021 ST to the dealer for its 20k preventative maintenance and had them handle the rear axle bolt and back up camera recalls while it was there. After getting it back, it is now making a grinding/rattling sound after it cold soaks. It makes the sound at idle and while driving, but goes away after the car warms up. Brought it back to the dealer and they said they “tightened a few things” and no noise was present. After that confidence inspiring explanation, and the continued presence of the noise, I brought it to the other dealer in town and they said it was the cam phasers. Two weeks later, I get my ST back after the cam phaser work, and……. it didn’t fix the problem. Any ideas as to what the source of this noise is?

Did they change out the rear end gear oil and forgot to fill it back up?
That sounds horrible, almost like something is dragging the ground.

Well, they finally found it. It turned out to be a missing fastener in this shroud piece that was allowing it to rest on the exhaust pipe. image_1.jpeg
