Just bought a used 2020 Magnetic Metallic Ford Explorer ST. First 400HP SUV since my 2006 Chevy Trailblazer SS. Just had Windows Tinted and ordered 20x8.5 Liquid Metal Shadow wheels. MRBP Axle Back and Tune coming soon.

I been loving my ST for the past week, but one thing driving me nuts is a Hollow Thunk noise going over smaller bumps from the rear. Not sure if it is the crappy tires that I am replacing or something else. Seems to only happen if both rear tires hit the bump simultaneously.

Going to search the site for similar issues.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum.

For your noise issue, check your tire pressure. The factory over inflates the tires and this can cause some unwanted bounce and weird noises when going over bumps.

Thanks, Good to know I checked my tire and they were all at 38-40PSI. Dropped them down to 33psi cold and I will take a ride down the road I hear the most noise on and see if it is better. They put some cheap tires on it, not sure if owner did if for lease turn in or the dealership. Regardless new tires and wheels come Monday.

Have you checked to make sure the jack is secure? When I bought mine, the jack was not secure, it was loose in the spare tire tub, underneath the spare tire, which was not secure either.
