Traded in my 2015 Ford Mustang GT for a more family friendly new 2024 Ford Explorer ST in Forged Green Metallic.

Bought it two days ago and have already tinted the windows and tail lights. Also added black lug nuts.

Here to learn more about the car, mods, etc.

Welcome to the forum. I hope you have better luck with the black lug nuts than I have. I've only had them for a few month and they are already starting to rust.

Which ones did you get? I got the Ford ones but have previously used the Gorilla ones on other vehicles.

I bought the Ford ones. The paint cracked when they put them on after putting the new tires on. I don’t think you’re supposed to use an impact.

Dang that sucks they aren’t cheap either. It says to use non-marring lug nut sockets for removal on the Ford site. Never used them before to know if it makes a difference. You might have better luck with the Gorilla lugs because the spline design requires the key to remove each one. Pretty sure that’s what I had on my mustang and never had issues.

No they’re not supposed to use an impact. Hand wrench only.

You would think that being a dealer they would know that and have the proper socket. I probably would have been better off going to Townfair Tire to have the tires put on!

Yeah, nothing good about impacts for installing lug nuts even with torque sticks Imo. I use mine to loosen lug nuts but all tightened with torque wrench in 2 or 3 steps.

They don’t care. They just want to get the job done as quickly as possible.

Just ordered the AWE exhaust. Excited to hear how it sounds in person. Hard to really tell from these Youtube videos lol.

That’s crazy I just traded my 2015 Mustang GT premium for a 2023 ST too! They said it’s a good marriage. Hope we both love ‘em’.

Nice. Just had CVFab downpipes and AWE catback installed today. Now it’s making some noise lol. Can definitely hear the turbos now.

This thing has come a long way since August. Still got a few more performance mods to add before getting it tuned. IMG_2952.jpeg
