So I’ve been looking online and they are saying there is a new tune for the explorer st coming out from Ford performance. Does anyone have any more information about it?

That appears to be the only way to do it to keep your warranty if I’m looking at this correctly

So I’m going to assume you can buy this and then have the dealer install?
I'm sure the dealer could do this for you but it looks like they have made it so the average owner with a laptop could install this.

Well, it’s a start at least something for Ford Performance for our ST’s. Looks to be a 30 HP game that’s better than nothing. Hopefully Ford will keep pushing it.

To everyone thinking "you get to keep your warranty" really needs to watch Tommy Boy again. There are too many red flags with the graph Ford released to make this tune worth the $700 initial cost, or even $10, plus whatever the dealer charges to flash it.

Anyone know why towing is not recommended with this tune? Aggressive shifting?

Another member said the concern was with engine heat and the cooling system. I can only image a little more timing advance and turbo boost Ford is concerned with overheating or engine damage. I believe the comment was if you're not towing to capacity and climbing large inclines you should be ok taking it easy. Or return to stock tune for the trip, it doesn't take too long. But I think other tuners are similar and don't recommend towing either. Any other input from someone more experienced with towing?

my anecdotal review of towing while tuned was there were no issues while towing around 4700 on mainly flat roads while being on ZFG91 tune. im not sure about my E50 tune but id venture to say with it should be ok as long as staying out of high boost situations but again, anecdotal.

also in all my searching and lurking I have yet to hear @ZFGracing speak up on if he doesnt recomend towing on his tunes.

This is from ZFG's website on towing.
