Newly designed phone mount/draggy holder

Figured I'd share a little project I've been working on the last few weeks. It aggravates me the lack of aftermarket solutions for a good phone holder for these cars so I decided to take matters into my own hands. I started by reverse engineering the factory nav cover on the back of the screen then added my own geometry to it to add a support. A friend mentioned while I was at it I should add in a pocket to hold the Dragy, here's what I was able to come up with. After a week of using it I have to say I'm pleased with the results. Let me know what you guys think! So far it holds the phone and the draggy great even on a hard launch. Inserts are threaded for a 1/4-20 and m5 screws (to mount a plate or MagSafe which I eventually may do, currently just using a pinch mount I had laying around).

That cover on the back of the NAV is a great idea. No one can see back there and it is definitely a more solid mounting point compared to the Pro.Fit VSM mount that I have. Sounds like a product you could market to the community if you can manage to get the cost down.

I've got about 80 hours in the design and testing, so I'd like to try and make a bit of my time/money back on it rather than release the file.
Yes please, waiting for you to say you wanted to make money lol. Let us know when you've got a figure! Cyber Monday deal haha...?!

Carbon PETG, so far we haven't had any issues with heat. PLA could be an issue but typically PETG is pretty resilient to UV and Heat.

oohh...carbon PETG? that sound fancy. ive used a few PETG prints in the engine bay and have had ok success but not carbon. Wonder if that would hold up better. well done in the build btw.

I can't really tell much difference but they say its better lol. It prints a lot messier but cleans up nice and leaves really minimal layer lines though. The final product looks really clean. Luckily the way these mount they pretty much set on top of the vent and taper down with it so very little weight is actually hanging off the mounting boss.

Would a resin print be a good alternative?

Have had mixed result with the carbon, petg prints a bit easier, prusa also has some good nylon options which i think should hold up pretty well.

I've debated even doing an injection mold if there would be enough interest. Seems to have tapered off a bit already though so I think for now atleast PETG is where im going to leave it. I have no desire to get into the mess that comes with resin printing. I had one a few years ago just to play around with and it was a constant headache lol. Cool results but not worth the added mess.

I actually was thinking about getting a resin printer to play with haha :p love my prusa mk3s though, but the MMU is a difficult beast to tame, let alone master... You could make a silicon mold and fill that with resin as well. A buddy of mine does it all the time, makes buttons for flight sims for boeing amongst other things with that method.
