Hi All,
I had an exhaust shop inspect the exhaust because I could hear a leak. He said it was a cracked pipe that was part of the left cat. He also said that emissions on these STs have an 8 year warranty and Ford would replace it for free. Is that your experience with these? I thought the longest warranty was the 5 year drive train.

Also, I noticed that the trac control was timing out and turning back on but after further observation, it seemed it might reinstate after I changed drive modes. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Yes, he is correct about the emissions warranty. They don't really advertise this type of warranty, but I believe it to be required by law. My left cat has been replaced under warranty twice, around 20K and then again at around 60K miles, along with the flex pipe.

I think the 8 year/80,000 mile warranty applies here.

(128) 2020 - 2021 Ford Explorer Catalytic Converter Update 21E11 - Nov 1 2018 - Sept 17 2020 - Build - YouTube

i had my driver's side replaced a little over a year ago at about 35K miles. It seems to be fine now after about a year. It's not just under warranty it is also a recall repair since the exhaust leaks and it is an environmental and also health risk for the passenger. The above video discusses the new design of the cat which prevents the crack supposedly.

And here is the actual recall:

As far as the traction control, I have ascertained that it does turn back on every time the drive mode is changed.
