Mobil 1 fan myself it's what I run in my Malibu haven't done our first oil change yet but I will stick with It for the explorer for sure.

The Mustang gets 5W-30 Pennzoil Ultimate, and a K&N HP-2009 'bout every 6K. Since I have a buncha points on the ST, it'll get Motorcraft semi-synthetic dino-oil and MotorCraft filters 'bout every 6K..

Well I did my first oil change at 974 miles with this brand of oil was I out of line here ??
I see a lot of owners are using mobile 1
Next oil change I maybe using mobile 1 myself
I’m going to change it every 3000 miles here on out I hope that’s cool….

I use Mobil 1, but Castrol is also a quality oil. Every 3K miles seems excessive. I would say every 10K miles is fine with any full synthetic oil.

Anyone have views or experience on royal purple 5w30 or Lucas synthetic 5w30 used in these?

I have 6 quarts of each left over from my street car.
