No it's not. All 2020+ explorers are either 2wd or AWD. There is no direct mechanical link to the front axle. Also the transfer case has no switch or lever to select 4wd hi and there is no low range either.
Here we go again! There IS a direct mechanical link to the front axles. It's called the Front Axle Disconnect Actuator. Exact same thing as is on any 4WD vehicle. It engages/disengages the front axles mechanically. Also, just because there isn't a switch on the dash to select 4WD doesn't mean there isn't one. It's just controlled by the ECU instead of the driver. Everything from the display to the warning messeges, from the owners manual to Ford's branding calls it 4WD. The only real difference between the old school 4WD and this new 4WD technology is the addition of the wet clutch and it only distributes torque between the front and rear axles, not each wheel independently as a true AWD system does.

The spreadsheet listing the change itself (among many others) is already available in the "main" FORScan thread, whereas the actual change has been discussed in a number of other threads. The one caveat is that there have been multiple reports of the change not working on some MY20-24 vehicles, with no real discernable pattern. Personally, I am just happy that I was able to successfully apply this one and the double-honk-on-exit annoyance, both of which were beyond annoying.
I agree it's odd. There appears to be no rhyme or reason as to which vehicles it works on, and I did not have high hopes when I made the change, just glad it worked.
I've had my ST for a month and the auto start/stop has never once come on. It's an off lease vehicle so I doubt someone bought whatever it is to shut it off. I was worried something was wrong - but it's a perk!

The display will tell you the ASS status. For example, engine on vehicle charging, engine on until next stop, engine on due to low temperature, engine on due to heating/cooling, engine off, engine on normal operation, deactivated by driver, engine on due to steering angle, etc.

When I say that it's never come on I probably phrased that badly - what I mean is that the "A" with the semicircle around it and the slash through it is always on - it's never not lit on the dash while the ST is running. The engine has never once in my ownership auto started/stopped.
