Looking to move to an Explorer. Either ST or Platinum at this point. Have driven both with the V6TT. The only way I would buy either is with the twin turbo V6.

Have a 2020 Raptor and wife loves those seats. We use it for long trips to a rental house we have in SE Va. She says the seats are very comfortable for her. So the seats are an important part of the decision as she has back issues. I think she would be satisfied with either the platinum or ST. She didn't like the seat color combo on the platinum we saw, Ivory seats but bottom of seat and "frame" was black. Are the "massage" seats any better? She wasn't exactly fond of the glitz in the platinum.

Is there any difference in the seats? I realize neither seats are similar to the raptor seats.

Agreed the Raptor seats are the most comfortable I have felt. As far as I know, there’s no difference between the Platinum and ST seats. The Explorers seats aren’t as good, but are comfortable for me. Having had both messaging seats and non-messaging seats, the non messaging seats are more comfortable.

Hi there. I just picked up the ST last night. The seats are different. The Platinum are perforated leather while the ST has suade inserts. The Platinum felt a little more plush but not by much. You slide around less in the ST seats. The bolstering on the ST is not too aggressive. The suspension is tighter so you will feel the bumps a bit more.

This and you also get leather stitched dashboard and Adaptive LED projectors on the Platinum, so the headlights are a lil bit brighter vs the ST

The ST is sportier, the Platinum is tad bit more "luxury"

I guess I was saying the way the seat is built is the same, just different upholstery.
