POLL: OEM 20" or 21" Wheels

I've posted this picture before. Had the factory 20's powder coated by Detroit Wheel & Tire. $600.00 (included dismount, mount and balance) to powdercoat the wheels. 3 day turnaround and had the wheels back on the Explorer.

I like that a lot. But have you thought about black lug nuts? I think that would look even better.

Call me crazy, but I actually love the look of 18" wheels on these cars ... AKA, police interceptors look amazing to me when they're clean with some tire shine on them. If I do wind up getting an ST, I may look to go this route, though not with the same wheels. Handling might suffer, but ride will improve and tires themselves will be cheaper, at least compared to the 21" wheels. Surprisingly, the price difference between the 20" and 18" tires are pretty similar, but I'm sure there will be weight savings.

For me the 21 inch black wheels were a key selling point! I absolutely love the way they look. The street pack models are easier to recognize as an ST than the other ones.

These are great looking wheels and I just got a pair myself. What size lug nuts did you use? The original lug nuts?

Just reused the factory lug nuts. Once they’re deformed I’ll switch to black ones.
