Premium Gas and Full Synthetic Oil..

I'm not complaining. My CTSV would get about 10 if I kept my foot in it a lot and I would get under 4mpg on road race days

87 here. I throw in 93 here an there. With these gas prices, I’m just running 87. Especially when my week mostly consists of driving to work. And frankly it’s still fun as hell with 87.
I use whatever ford dealers throw in. I think it’s semi synthetic. But I plan to just do it more often ~5k miles. Question though, can I request ford to do full synthetic? How much extra? I’m afraid even if I ask them to do it they’ll still just do semi synthetic.

I personally think we're nuts if we follow the manufacturer's recommended oil change intervals. Their recommendation is between 7,500 and 10,000 miles. These engines are high-strung little bullets (read high performance) and deserve a little love. I believe any interval below 5,000 miles will pay off in spades should we own the vehicles long enough. Of course YMMV.
I'm a Mobil 1 Full Synthetic user but I think there are a number of really good oils out there today. My change intervals are 3,000 miles. I know that's overkill but it allows me to sleep at night.
Pretty much any of the following will work. The vehicles do come with a Semi-Synthetic Motor Oil and I believe that this is what you will get if you go to the dealer for an oil change unless otherwise requested.
Fuel Recommendations:
Your vehicle is designed to operate on regular unleaded gasoline with a minimum pump (R+M)/2 octane rating of 87 or regular unleaded gasoline blended with a maximum of 85% ethanol (E85).
Some fuel stations, particularly those in high altitude areas, offer fuels posted as regular unleaded gasoline with an octane rating below 87. The use of these fuels could result in engine damage that will not be covered by the vehicle warranty.
For best overall vehicle and engine performance, premium fuel with an octane
rating of 91 or higher is recommended. The performance gained by using premium fuel is most noticeable in hot weather as well as other conditions, for example when towing a trailer.
Oil Recommendations:
Motorcraft® SAE 5W-30 Synthetic Blend Motor Oil.
Motorcraft® SAE 5W-30 Super Premium Full Synthetic Motor Oil.

In my SHO (120k miles now) I ran Motorcraft semi-syn for 60k miles (changed when oil change light came on, roughly 5k) then switched to Amsoil signature with 12k mile change intervals based on Blackstone oil analysis results. At 105k miles, had timing chain/phasers/guides, etc replaced due to chain rattle (since 15k miles and common in the 3.5, got done before extended warranty expired). The engine was very clean with little varnish. Mechanic asked what oil I was running as he was impressed with lack of build up for miles.
So, I'm doing the same with this 3.0 engine in my ST.
Always run super in my Ecoboost products.

I don't even take the free oil changes with new cars. I do all maintenance myself. Had a quick lube forget to put the drain plug back in. Engine seized shortly thereafter. Don't trust them to do the job right.
I learned how to rebuild everything on my 66 Mustang including rear end, transmission, and motor. Only thing I didn't do was final base coat clear coat. Not much I won't try to tackle on my own. Helps to have a lift and tons of tools.
