FORScan Change: Power Point Timeout, s (12V outlet after ignition off)

Module : BdyCM - Body Control Module
Method: Easy click select and enter value in seconds (not As-Built)
Status: Changed to 360 sec from 3600 sec
Issues: None.
Working as intended. All the charging and power ports gets 6 mins timeout as I have set. (All three 12V sockets and 2USB charging ports for second row.)

The two data/power USB ports in the front and the house hold outlet in the second row, loses power with ignition off, immediately. Not sure if it was like that earlier (before I made the change).

FORScan Change: Auto Start Stop Disable

Module : PSCM - Power Steering Control Module
Method: As-Built Data change to 730-03-01 xxxx xxxx 00--

Status: ASS seems to be disabled. ASS came back after few miles.
Issues : Showed multiple system errors. I restored back factory settings. Errors are gone but the proximity sensors sound different now. ASS is still disabled.
Plan: Need to drive for sometime to understand all the changes. Happy that ASS is disabled but not happy that it changed other things.
Known Cons: the ASS physical switch will not work and any changes need to be done with FORScan only.
Other Solution: buy the 100$ ASS eliminator circuit and install the hardware solution.

I have read that many here has already done it, do enlighten me what am I missing? The before and after values you have changed will be really helpful.

Tried something else ( see below post # 53)

I have a 22 ST as well. The info on Forscan was very helpful. Thanks for taking the time and effort to put this together.

Ive searched without success to find out how you can disable the exterior lights from coming on each time you open a door. Ive disabled the headlights through the normal dash settings but the daytime running lights and other exterior lights still come on. Very annoying when at the drive in theater with the family or arriving to your deer hunting spot before sunup and the vehicle lights up like a Christmas tree every time you open a door. Ive found mentions of police mode, dark mode, silent mode but nothing concrete for this exact vehicle. Anyone turned these off successfuly on a 22 ST and willing to share the settings? Thanks

I have seen it for f150 and the dark mode and silent mode should work for explorer as well. Only issue is that it's enabled with forscan only, for Sync 3.x systems. For Sync 4 you can get an easy toggle switch on the screen. Makes it much easier to adjust it on the go.

Will keep an eye out for what can be done for ST, but I don't have an answer right away.

Should be for all of them, 12V ones in the front and back, all USB ones and the household one for the second row.

I have only tested it for the 12V inside the arm rest console, for my dashcam. Will check the other ports and confirm.

Module : PSCM - Power Steering Control Module
Method: As-Built Data change PSCM 730-01-02 xxxx xxxx 01--
00=Auto Start/Stop Disabled
01=Auto Start/Stop Enabled, Angle Inhibit Enabled
02=Auto Start/Stop Enabled, Angle Inhibit Disabled

Since my initial value was already 00, I have tried 01.
original values in Red box, changed values in the Green box.

Status : ASS is disabled in D, in Normal mode.
Issues : Reverse Brake Assist disabled in R

IMG_20230509_104520.jpg

Plan: Try to run this for some time and see if ASS returns. If not, leave it as is, and live without Reverse Brake Assist. I feel the solution is better than the one that disables BMS.
I might go into a hardware solution later.

Thanks @Max Salvo for asking about it. Its so easy to do in Sync 3.4 and above.
I will keep this option off almost all the time, though. Who doesn't like the Christmas light show.

Thanks a million for this. As soon as I get some time I will use your instructions and make the changes. I wasnt expecting to get a toggle button so thats a happy surprise. Thanks again for posting everything in this thread.

Thanks...just what I needed to know! Do you know what value to use if you want them to stay powered permanently?

Not sure about permanent on, but seen As Built, change to 18 hours (18*60*60 value in that field). No harm in trying a bigger number there.

I would not do it, as it puts the battery under lot pressure and can end up with a dead battery.

Just tried this. I dont get the option button. Any thoughts?
Did you cycle the ignition properly, after write?
What I do is write the change first. Then when it asks for switching the ignition on and off, I will also open and close the driver door for full vehicle systems shutdown and reboot.

Also I have the latest software, in terms of sync, adaptor drivers and FORScan.

Then again, some forscan changes can revert back like the auto start stop. And this varies with different model years of the same vehicle. I would try it one more time, as this was very straight forward and easy change in my case.

Yep, sop. I have a 2023 and no prob with the ass switch being off. I usually change the as-built after making a backup of the module.

Did you do a reboot as in reboot the screen or you just mean shutting vehicle off etc.?
