My remote start using the FOB would only work hit and miss for the last year. I took it to the dealer under warranty and they said they fixed it, and now it's even worse. The phone app always works, but not the FOB. I told them contact Ford about it and call me when they have a fix. Just wondering if anyone had this problem and how it was fixed.

Of course, they put a new battery in, right?

Yep. The door locks and hatch work so it has good signal.

Fixed. Ford said you have to hit the lock button again and then the remote start twice. Even though you already have locked the vehicle. I wonder who the genius at Ford was that thought that was a good idea?

Remote start has worked that way for years. And other brands also.
The owners manual would tell you this.

I had to take it to the dealer twice for the problem. The first time they reprogrammed the RF module. The second time they called Ford and were told to hit lock again first. You would think they would have known this.

I would look for a new dealer. That is just plain wrong.
