Ride quality difference switching from Street pack 21" wheels and tires to OEM 20" wheels and tires?

I have a 2020 ST with street pack 21" wheels and Pirellis. I would like to improve ride quality and wonder if switching to Stock 20" wheels and tires would improve ride quality. Has anyone made the switch from stock 21" wheels and tires to stock 20" wheels and tires? Did the ride quality improve? Was it worth the effort and expense?

Can’t answer your question but I went from 21 to 22 and noticed no real difference in ride firmness. I think if you are looking for a softer ride, you may have to go smaller than 20 with a bigger sidewall. Don’t know how low you can go with the calipers though.

18 IN is as low as toucan go. Dont mean to be that guy, but if you want ride quality why would you get an ST vs a Platinum. You would need to replace the suspension to feel a difference in ride quality.

Even with 18" snow tires, I would not say ride comfort is much different. A lot depends on the tire and how worn they are though.

I have driven ST's with both wheel sizes and didn't notice a difference. If you are willing to pay the price, go with a higher end 21" tire, such as a Michelin and you may see some improvement.

18’s with Street Pack brakes. If he has 21’s those are the brakes he has.

You bought a sporty suv with firmer shocks and struts and low profile tires…the ride quality is what’s expected from that package. 20’s may help some but you still have the suspension to deal with…you could swap shocks and struts for Platinum versions to soften it up some more. Check your tire pressure also…make sure you’re at 33psi cold.

Thanks for the replies and info. I will probably stick with the 21" wheels / tires and upgrade to Michelins when the Pirellis wear out.
