Left Houston yesterday…headed west to Austin then Fredericksburg and made our way out to Alpine. Left Alpine this morning and headed down to Big Bend. Ran up into Chisos Basin for a bit then out to Boquillas where we hopped the “ferry” across the river for lunch at Jose Falcon’s then back across the park to Terlingua. From there we took 170 which follows the Rio Grande almost turn for turn over to Presidio then headed north. Stopped for a pic at Elephant Rock then on to Marfa, out west to Valentine to the Prada “store”, looped back up to Fort Davis then finally back to Alpine. Weather was perfect and we got in some good sights, plenty of twisty roads and lots of triple digits. We’ll turn and burn for Houston in the morning. Last road trip pics. It was dreary all the way along the border from Alpine to Del Rio this morning…not good for pics. After that we were in GTF home mode and only stopped for gas and food.
I did meet 2 different state troopers today about an hour apart as well as one on Saturday. They look for any reason to stop a car down on the border…me running no front plate and dark tint is all they need. They don’t actually care….it’s just a reason to check for drugs or illegals. No tickets were issued. lol

Thank goodness you weren't at triple-digit speeds when that happened!

You covered some great sights and enjoyed some perfect weather. From Big Bend to the Prada store in Marfa, it must have been a fantastic adventure. Safe travels back to Houston!
