ROADDDD TRIPPPP!!!!

This insane road trip I’ve been planning for 6 months starts tomorrow. 8 states…several more than once and 13 stops over 5000+ miles. High points are Royal Gorge, Moab, the Great Salt Lake, Bonneville Salt Flats, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite Natl Pk, Sequoia Natl Pk, Death Valley, the Hoover Dam, the Grand Canyon in 2 different spots, Saguaro Natl Pk and finally Big Bend. Prepare for a ton of pics between tomorrow and the 27th. This ST is about to get one serious workout.
The first couple days there won’t be much happening…heading to OK to visit some friends first. We head to Colorado on Sunday then the fun starts.

Take a couple of microfiber towels with you and stop at a coin op wash to knock the bugs off.

Today was just a burn day…had to get to Pryor, OK for a party tomorrow. The real fun starts Sunday when we head for Colorado.

Safe travels. This is a beautiful country. Had the good fortune of driving across this great land 4 times. Never in the ST. Maybe one of these days. Only 1 spot of advice. If you see something you might be interested in, stop. You will not regret it. But you probably will regret not stopping.

The Salt Lake will probably disappoint, on a good year it's not that great and with our low water this year it's close to being a mud hole. There are plenty of Bison on Antelope Island so there's that.

Every stop is for the wife to see. I’ve been to all of them multiple times.

Nothing fun to show yet. Went to OK for our annual party yesterday then drove to Trinidad, CO today. The good stuff starts tomorrow. We did stop in Clayton, NM to find my great great grandfathers grave I had never seen before so that was cool.

Went over the Continental Divide into Grand Junction on Hwy 50 in CO…beautiful drive.

Today’s travels…first stop was Moab which was freakin closed at 8:30 on a Tuesday morning…so we burned off and went through Helper, UT where the old gas station pics are from then SLC, the Great Salt Lake then went to play at the Bonneville salt flats and now we’re in Elko, NV way early. We planned to burn several hours at Moab but that didn’t happen. Didn’t push too hard on the salt…it was 109* with 9000’+ DA.
