How is the salesperson coming up with that when every document from FORD's official recall is to the contrary? (e-brake flash only)
Something doesn't sound right ...
I agree, but i'm just relaying the information I received from the dealer. The PCM update is complete, but the dealer still can't release the car, so something is up. I got ford involved too, they talked to the dealer and this is the latest update they've given me.

I understand. Either FORD is reneging on their official recall or the dealer doesn't know what they're doing. Those are the only two options.
Keep us informed.

If I take my ST in for routine service, will they do the recall work whether I like it or not?

Operative word: "Salesman".. which basically means a clueless idiot, the one I dealt with didn't even know how many turbos it had.

We have 3, right? ;)

... I'll add that my Platinum really puts me back in the seat under full throttle. The ST acceleration must be spectacular ...
Comapred to your Platinum I would say the ST accelerates better but not "spectacularly" better. Enjoy your ride!

The 3.58 axle ratio is exclusive to the ST.
That is incorrect. The platinum gets a 3.31, the hybrid gets a 3.73, and everything else gets a 3.58 including the base, XLT, Limited, and the timberline along with the ST

For those of you riled up regarding all the misinformation coming from the FCSD Zone Manager or the dealership's sales department, please disregard.

The person of importance that would have the information available for this concern would be the Field Service Engineer. This is a service specific representative that each dealership has assigned.

Please be aware the field organization has not been provided additional information beyond a "solution" that will be released to dealers by June 6th.

I promise, the sky is not falling.

I don't understand why Ford is putting the rear 2 bolt subframe assembly in their Lincoln Aviator while the ST gets the single bolt subframe? I've driven the Aviator recently, it is of no comparison to the ST in terms of performance. Why won't Ford beef up the performance model to handle hard launches, etc....basically the type of performance driving one would expect with a performance model?

Completely agree! Some of us think they did this due to part availability and/or penny pinching. Either way, not a good look for Ford IMO. This crossmember is taking up way to much space in my garage. I need to get off the pot and either do it or pay Ford to do it which pains me.

Great info, that chart is a keeper. (y)

I'd love to be a fly on the wall of FORD Engineering: "Heh John, that thing we did with the 3 bolt rears? Yeah, it didn't work."

I'll give you my address, you can send it to me. Don't worry, I'll pay for the shipping.

Because that's what friends do!

RE: fly on the wall
https://www.explorerst.org/threads/rear-end-damage.2602/page-27 post number 536

So I see we are getting quite a few failures because of our change to a three bolt subframe.

Yes, the government will probably make us issue a recall.

But a recall has to include a fix with it.

The only fix is to replace them with the proper 4 bolt subframe.

We can’t do that. It’s way too expensive!

I have an idea. What if we say the only problem is the vehicle can roll away.

Great idea! Then our fix can be to just automatically engage the park brake.

Good job team! Another problem solved.

Good catch, never would've seen that in a 29 page thread.

Well, the sad thing is something very close to that scenario probably happened.
