Can someone point me to the thread that has the FORScan instructions to disable the seat belt reminder chime please? I've searched and can't find it. I tried the buckle three times, wait for light to flash and buckle again but it didn't work. Thank you!

It’s on the Explorer FORScan spreadsheet that I added in, but try this and report back. Only change where the 0 is, leave the x.

BCM -> 720-01-01 -> xxxx-xx0x-xxxx.

You can do it without FORScan. It's pretty quick to do it. Just google how to turn off seat belt chime on Ford Explorer, and you'll find the sequence to follow. Last time I did it I had to do it twice to hold that setting.

Did you read my OP? I tried that several times and it didn’t work! Followed the sequence exactly. Turn on accessories, wait for light to go out, buckle and unbuckle three times, light should flash but it doesn’t. Tried it fast, tried it slow, nothing. It does say it won’t work with “My Key”, whatever that is.

That’s exactly what I tried but after three buckles/unbuckles the light didn’t come on. I’m going to try it again though.

3 buckles and unbuckle should work …some people have reported that they buckled and unbuckled 4 times and it worked

Not sure why it didn’t work the other day or on my first try just now but the second attempt seems to have worked. The light came on and then flashed after the fourth buckle/unbuckle. Thanks for everyone’s help!

Do you know if this works on the 2025, as well?

It should, however my 25 isn’t in yet. Make sure to back up the module that needs to be changed so you can revert it back if it doesn’t work.

I just brought home my ‘25 and am struggling to get this to work. The seatbelt light doesn’t seem to shut off with the accessory power turned on. I will continue to mess with it and post here if I figure something out.

Updated: in the infotainment system there is a breakdown on how to disable this. You follow the same steps as stated above but you do it right away after turning the accessory power on. You do not need to wait for the seatbelt light to turn off. Hope this helps others!

The manual tells you how to shut off the seatbelt reminder. It’s easy to do, however it took me many tries to get the command of disabling the seatbelt reminder to stick. The 25’ software is glitchy when it comes to disabling things and Ford already has a fix it list to work on for 25’ software. I don’t understand why they can’t get even the small things right the first time @ Ford..

I looked at that manual instruction. I interpret to say its per seat and you must drive while doing it. They are nuts!

You do not drive while doing it.

In park with the parking brake on, turn the ignition on but do not start it. Sitting in either front seat you want to deactivate, fasten and then unfasten the seatbelt (4) full times within 30 seconds at a mederate pace.

I must of read it wrong. I tried it a few times and never got it to work. Does it actually eliminate that overhead nag shot?

It took me many times for it to finally take or keep the command of me wanting it off. At one point I inserted the seatbelt and unbuckled it a lot more than just the (4) times is tells you to do and then it finally worked.

On the 25' I have not found anything I wanted to disable or turn off that has not been a problem. The software system is not correct. I keep dogging on Ford and they deserve every bit of it. They release vehicle after vehicle with problems right out of the factory. I've been a Ford guy my entire life but I'm at the point that I'm not so sure I will buy another Ford. I'm tired off their repeated poor quality and warranty issues.
