Seat Issues??

I saw posted on the Explorere ST Facebook page a person post a video of issues with their seats, where the leather pulls away from the plastic side support. I noticed the same on my new ST and sent the below pictures to my dealer (just purchased the car two days ago, Saturday). He took a look at the others they had on the lot, which had the same pulling away issue and told me it must be how they are designed and it is how it is.

My question is does this seem normal?

Updated thoughts:

Maybe the seat is designed this way because it is multi contour with the massager build in. This seems to make the seat more accessible.

Thoughts?

Normal. There is no reason for it other than they are cheaply constructed.

LOL... the honeymoon lasted all of 2 days for me. Then I found glass in the door, ripples in the sheetmetal, crudely fitting parts and a bunch of other problems.

I had the same issue and also the leather pulling away from the headrest posts on both passenger and driver side. They replaced both seat covers.
