Should i trade 2020 ST for 2021 ST?

So i have all of 10,600 km (say 6,400 miles or so) on my 2020 ST, that i leased in October 2019.

I had gremlins at the start (faulty ground wire that took the dealer a week to diagnose) and now there is a factory recall to check driveshaft weld. But other than that, no problems. I would get a similar build in the 2021 model.

Did they iron out the bugs by the time the 2021’s came out or should i wait for the 2022s to arrive?

Anxious to hear from 2021 owners on their experience thus far. Thanks!

Ps I should add this may be the last new car I buy pre-retirement so looking at getting another 18 months of warranty plus not having to worry about the original model year bugs.

Pick up new one Tuesday. Infinite Blue. Very excited. With value of cdn traded so high these days lease payments went down $200/month. Wife already has plans for savings. :(

There's been a few people posting issues with their 2021's, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of critical issues. I personally haven't had anything critical go wrong with mine.

The only thing I've had warranty replaced so far is the digital gauge cluster screen. It was flickering intermittently and was very stressing on the eyes...
I made a thread detailing the process you can view here if you ever notice yours flickering as well.

I picked up my Rapid Red ST back in March and love it. It probably has a firmer ride than most SUVs due to the sport package/stiffer suspension, but coming from always driving sedans, it's a lovely change.

New model came home today. Same model except 2021, new color (infinite blue), lease $200/month less, and have full 36 month warranty again. And found out while getting insurance my old company was gouging me on combined home/3vehicle/travel trailer policy so got that reduced by $350/month too! It’s been a good 5 days!

One question - do you think red AlloyGator rim protectors would look cheesy? I was against until my wife road rashed the 24 inch dub ballers on our F150. Alternately, any other color suggestions or just get wheel fixed and try not do it again?

They changed the screen to being horizontal, right? I've honestly thought about it just for that alone lol.

Non Tech Pack cars get the horizontal screens.

HEY!

You scratched the rim on a large rock, NOT a curb

*wink*wink*

Rock
not curb

Sadly indeed still have the vertical screen - that is the only thing i would change.

When you see the images of the new Sync 4 system the screens are still vertical and also bigger, to me the huge screens just look so out of place!

You won’t get a light in your console or glove box in the 2021, lol. See previous posts. If you wait till 22, you get rid of the auto start/stop and the cheesy tray between the middle seats.

Auto start stop removal is only for the 2.3L.

Thinking the same thing…Sunday met with dealer about trade in and ordering 2021. Purchased my ST in July 2020, have 26k miles, fully loaded, but not perf brakes. Dealer offered $45k and new 21 ST with perf brakes would cost me $61k. Keeping 2020.

Look into ordering. I got 4% under invoice plus any ford rebates for my 22 ST that I ordered. Not all dealers will offer that but worth a check.
