Agree with your assessment. Awful clean break.Too cold on that side and he just puddled some metal against it.

I’m no welding pro but I did inspect my SPDs before I installed them and to my eyes they looked like quality welds. Fingers crossed.

SPD does great quality work, it’s just the bracing they had on the down pipes that could cause them to crack, they admitted it themselves that’s why it’s absent on their newer version.

There is no bracing on this pipe I would not say that my occurrence is a representative of spd overall.
