Snow On Roof

This is more of a rant than a question. I don't understand why people don't clean the snow off of their roof! Especially vehicles with roof racks! It just makes for a very dangerous situation! I was on the highway going to school one afternoon in my Mustang and a huge sheet blew up from the roof of a mini-van in front of me and burst into pieces. I hit the brakes but several chunks hit my windshield and shattered it! Luckily I wasn't hurt or rear ended! Same thing happened to my girlfriend at the time and also to a friend. I know this has caused accidents and probably cost a couple lives! It takes two minutes to brush the snow off! Are people really that lazy! Is it worth taking the chance of ending someones life? In my case, I couldn't chase them down or get the license plate number because my windshield was smashed. So of course my insurance went up! This is just a pet peeve of mine having been on the receiving end. Ok, end of rant. Please go back to what you were doing and have a wonderful day.

Unfortunately MA does NOT have any laws re: snow removal from vehicles.
NH does. Look up Jessica's Law.
Drivers who violate the law in NH face fines of $250 to $500 for a first offense and $500 to $1,000 for subsequent offenses.

Unfortunately, you are right! There is no specific law but there are statutes that police can use to fine drivers. For instance, Obstructed View and Unsecured Load. I know they can stop and fine you $100 if you're driving on the MA pike with snow on top of your vehicle. It's just one of those things they just can't be bothered with I guess.

I don’t know what’s worse. The snow flying off or the idiot with the small hole of snow brushed off the windshield with every other window covered in snow. I guess a broken windshield is worse
