Steeda rear differential bushings

My rear diff brace and bushing kit has finally come in from Steeda. Took a little time this morning before the temperatures reached 100+ degrees, and tried to install the rear diff bushings. After a couple hours of trying to get the bushing itself out, I failed. Mind you the rear end is up on stands. It is not on a lift. I’m laying underneath it. So I put it back together changed direction and installed the rear diff brace for the time being. What an amazing product highly recommend it. My question is has anybody else installed differential bushing kit from Steeda and how did you get the bushings out? My next attempt is going to be on a lift, I would take advice anybody has. I’ve heard those bushings take a good amount of prying to get them out. Not sure if that helps but that’s all I really know.

Plus 1 on the stock bushings being hard to get out, also you should have waited on installing the rear diff brace. The brace will not allow the diff to drop down enough to remove the pinion bushings. You will have to remove the diff brace so you can install the pinion bushings.

Plus 1 on the stock bushings being hard to get out, also you should have waited on installing the rear diff brace. The brace will not allow the diff to drop down enough to remove the pinion bushings. You will have to remove the diff brace so you can install the pinion bushings.
As I was installing it that was running through my head. But it’s gonna be probably four or five months before I even get to those diff bushings. By then I’ll have my sway bar, sway bar links, and some other suspension parts so at that point, I will just tear the whole rear end apart.

That’s great to know thank you. The subframe kit is on order already. I’ll order the toe link and vertical link with the sway bar then. I was doing the sway bar links just cause they look cheap and flimsy. I’ll take them off the list for now. I’m doing all the suspension and drive line fixes first then starting in on motor.

1. Lower rear exhaust
2. Support under rear.
3. Remove the front differential bolts.
4. Using by a big screwdriver or pry put it in the bolt hole so you are only engaging the lower bushing. Pry hard back and forth to the absolute limit of movement until it pops out.
5. Disconnect the diff brace.
6. Remove the factory diff bolt.
7. Lower diff.
8. Using a large chisel/punch, hammer the other bushing out.
9. Install the steeds kit and button everything up.
