I need a resume now? My ST runs 11’s at 117. I don’t have any autocross trophy’s but I do have a pile of them from some rather fast stuff including one of 5 awards for being one of the first cars into the 3’s in the 1/8 on a 10.5 tire. I spent over a decade running various Pro Mod circuits and have spent over 35 years building cars and trucks as a hobby and professionally. And just because you Google a video that used a bottom of the shelf oiled filter doesn’t make you an expert...aside from looking up shit on the internet. You didn’t even put up an argument to tear down.
Nice. Typical goon drag racer. I may have met you at some point. Nah I was drag racing as a young punk back in the 60s. I’ve also run quite a bit of ProSolo, if you know about that motorsports event. A drag race that requires turning. Anyway, there’s more to an air filter than the peak amount of air that can be sucked through it.

The K&N oiled gauze filters are essentially the highest flowing filters you can buy and I ran them for many years on my cars and bikes until I finally noticed how badly they were at actually filtering the air. A film of super-fine powder (dust) throughout the intake tract on any vehicle that had run one for more than a 1/4 mile at a time. Great for quick trip racing, terrible for long term filtering.

Of course, someone with you drag racing experience doesn’t really give a shit about filtering because a serious drag engine doesn’t last long enough to notice.

I’ve built more street cars and trucks than I care to even remember...all of which were built to last. None had a K&N on them...but all had oiled filters. Zero ever had issues because of it. And if you were drag racing in the 60’s you’ve gotta be 70 or older. You must be one sour MF to be around if this is how you present yourself. I’m actually embarrassed for you. I don’t think you’ve made a post yet that wasn’t insulting or degrading in some way. I don’t see you lasting long around here if that’s how you wanna interact with everyone.

You have made what....11 posts so far and most of them have been critical of others or "I know it all" posts. Is this really the way you want to start on this site? I believe you probably have valid arguments, but perhaps you could phrase things in a slightly more positive way?
Yeah, about that. See avatar.

I’m on the forum since I just bought a 2021 ExST and decided to look around for a thread or posts that are actually useful truth rather than the more common bulbs, lights, tint, floor mats and other useless crap on a forum. One problem is the really good aftermarket tuning software companies haven’t bought into this “hotrod” SUV. The only one if found is HPTuners. I have their setup for other vehicles, but I prefer another brand for my Fords.

LOL Yeah, so far there’s certainly nothing here to learn, so no big loss. If feelings, rather than truth is a top priority, then we all are doomed.

I have a feeling your time here will be short. I also have a feeling I won’t lose a second of sleep when you’re gone.
But to your other point...HP is the go-to for these things with one or two tuners getting much better results than most. I would personally recommend SSI for your ST tuning needs.

I wouldn't do that to anyone let alone a guy I hardly know. ;)

I’d say he deserves whatever he gets at this point. 70+ year old dude just sitting all alone at Luby’s pissed off at the world....

Yeah well, I do my own tuning, so I won’t be needing SSI for anything other than a target. I’m quite familiar with the Ecoboost engine tuning while tuning the 1.6, 2.3, and the 3.5 in my Raptor. The 3.5 is the “best” for power as it runs both port and direct injection. The others pretty much require aftermarket HPFP and eventually WMI to add-on port injection.

Your "avatar" says it all...project much? And some people actually enjoy someone who puts a lot of effort into bulbs, floor mats, sound system, etc.

We don’t need an HPFP....not until you get deep into mods. The ST has already dipped into the 10’s in barely over a year and can run solidly in the 11’s on the stock pump....but I’m sure your home brew tuning won’t be anywhere near that. And FWIW yes...I spent decades tuning 4000+ HP engines with Big Stuff 3 so I know a thing or 2 about it. Just saving you the “this is over your head” speech.

Oh yeah, the Explorer isn’t a truck. It’s a unibody SUV. Trucks have body-on-frame. The Honda ridgeline isn’t a truck even though the Japanese think it is.

I don’t see anyone saying it’s a truck. Alzheimer's must suck.

You said it. Well, it has been almost a year... Who has Alzheimer's?

I’ve had this thing for 4 days...enjoying it so far but stock sucks so it’s time to set it apart from the rest. I usually do extensive truck builds and this will be no different...just some extra time waiting on parts for this new platform.
Starting with an Iconic Silver truck with pano roof, Street Pack and Premium Tech...pretty standard stuff.

You live a very sad, lonely life don’t you? I also call it my minivan...it’s not one of those either. Keep reading my build log though...I’m sure you’ll learn a thing or 2.

Yeah...., I stopped at the floor mats and tint crap. It's not a "build", its more of a simple parts-swapping exercise. I do see that others really like your ramblings on nothingness. So be it. I'll just hang around a while longer hoping that someone with some actual smarts speaks up. Otherwise it's really gonna be a waste of time...

I’d love to compare builds...I’ve had more magazine features than you’ve probably had cars. lol
But keep on insulting everyone here...you’re winning everyone over...I promise.

Seriously!

Whats with the invasion of dickholes on this site? Everyone used to be so friendly and helpful and encouraging. In the last 3 months it turned into a dick waving contest facing the wind. There is like 6 new users who have less than 20 posts and every post is just being a douche for no reason. Although I think you phrased it a bit better...

FORZDA3 what the hell is your problem? Last time I new this was a group of nice people with similar interest. Why do you feel like you want to jump on and verbally beat everyone up? Unbroken has offered a lot of good info. Some Bling and a lot of good tech. I’ve owned over 125 cars in my life most of which were performance oriented. I ran a number of modified production NHRA drag cars. If your old enough you might remember that class since the A mod cars were the precursor to Pro Stock which might be the most technically advanced full bodied race cars out there. Then we could go into the 7 yrs of factory level snowmobile racing which by the way we actually had more than 1 vehicle on the track at one time UNLIKE some of your racing endeavors. Last but not least I’m a 70 yr old feeling happy fart that is happy to be part of this Forum! Sorry everyone had to listen to this. Jim
