Tire foam

I’ve had my 2020 Explorer since September of 2019 recently had a vibration issue thinking the tires were out of balance took it in, I was there for almost 5 hours while they were trying to figure out why they wouldn’t balance. They finally got it and I went out to talk with the mechanic said he removed the foam in the 2 tires. I contacted Pirelli and told them what they did and said they should never have removed the foam. Now I’m wondering if it is safe to drive like that. I only had 18,300 miles on it although I’ve had it 4 years I have an extended warranty and I talked with the service manager as well. The only other thing I can think of doing is contacting the Ford Corporate Office to see if anything can be done as of now there is no recall on these tires

And it is now vibrating again!

Well it is safe to drive but needs to be corrected.

Of course Pirelli said that…their lawyers don’t give them a choice. I’m the real world it’s perfectly safe since all it does is act as a sound absorber. Many people have pulled that crap out and thrown it away with no issues.

I had the same issue with the tires that were on my truck when I bought it. Only, after about twenty minutes of trying to re-balance the front tires they gave up and pulled the tires off the rims. Cleaned them out and were able to balance them ok. I put over 20k miles on them after that and had no problems.
