Tire size question.

So I am needing to replace my stock (275/45/21 110W's). I currently have a Brand New SET of (265/40/21's 101V) sitting in my garage (never used). My questions is would this replace the stock tires with there being no issue's? Belle tire and discount tire told me they wouldnt mount them because of the Speed rating/load index but sounded more so like they were just wanting me to by The stock 275/45/21's from their store. Some used tires shops said it wouldn't be a problem at all but wanted to make a post to get some additional opinions from people with experience in tires/sizes etc. I Never drive the car over 85 Mph.

There will not be an issue with the function of the ST other than your speedo being off. See below.

The "V" speed rating on the new tires are 149 mph and the Explorer is limited to 143 mph so you are good with that.
The calculated load rating of that "101" tire is 7,272 lbs. Looks like this is above the GVWR.
Ultimately, it's your call on this and your should have the tire shop explain exactly why they don't want to install them.

I’m going to say the car will look odd with that tire size but there shouldn’t be a problem. Only thing is Speedo will be off but that’s easily fixed with Forscan.

Or you can leave it alone and get less tickets.
showing 65 = 62? No real issue.
What does it do, show improper MPG? Who cares. If you're calculating MPG from the dash, you're doing it wrong anyway.
(Fill the tank all the way, drive, be at the same angle, fill it to the top again, Miles/Gallons used between fillups=MPG )

Do you think a 275/50/45 would look better and be better than the 265/40/21? If so would it fit without rubbing?

Do you just want to not do stock size at this point? I would say a solid maybe, I don’t think anyone’s done that before. I don’t think it’ll work because that’s over .5 in taller then stock tires.
