Trans fix

Hi all, close to pulling the trigger on a 20 ST given the great Dec incentives. Research indicates quite a few trans issues, have read it's a TSB patch and/or trans coolant temp, nothing definitve i can find other than numerous pissed off owners with them. The 21's apparentely do not have these issues. The one i'm looking at has a build date of 7/20, which seems to be a very late build for a 20 , probably was scheduled months earlier but got caught in the plant closure. My question is would a build date of July this year be clear of the trans issues? TIA

From what I have read online, vehicles built after May 2020 have the fix. I believe they reworked the valve body (I think that's what I read somewhere).

I have read everything from valve body to re flash to trans cooler leak etc, quite a few horror stories on consumer websites. First year bugs a plenty. I am looking at a 20 built in sept this year so hoping that's well past the fix, wish there was some documented hard date to go by so i can make a decision and sleep at night.

if you have access to the windows sticker it is in the box under the MSRP per attached pic. In this example build date = 06/15/20.

That's cool. Your's is kind of close to an early build and you have no issues. So every early build does Not have issues which is good news.

How come you have so many miles (assuming the 18000ish and 400ish are miles) in just a month? Just curious.
Platinum was new. ST was used. Test drove the ST then went to another dealer to check out a few other Explorers. I didnt have a clue about the what the ST was until we test drove it. The other dealer had the Platinum in a blue color my girl friend fell in love with. A few days later I couldn't stop thinking about the ST and picked it up as well.

Ok, thanks for the clarification

I'm hoping I don't have issues with mine. Build date is 10/15/19, bought at the end of June this year. Thus far I haven't noticed anything, aside from harsh downshifting when in sport mode.
