Transmission performance tune

I am wondering if a ZFG transmission tune or any other tune will improve the "manual" shifting??? I knows it's not a dual clutch system, but I would like to remove some of that "lag, hesitation, ect" out of the shifting when up and downshifting on spirited curvy road driving. I miss driving some of my favorite curvy road driving with my manual transmission shifting. I would like better connection with my transmission when in manual shift mode. Also, are there actual transmission mods internally such as valve body upgrade, solenoid upgrade, ect??

Yes, suncoast makes 0-3 stages of rebuilds - RSA does as well. I’m going with the RSA in 2 weeks - GPZ clutches - steels - fibers - seals - hardware - pro loc valve body. 3700$ you got ship it them complete tear down and rebuild - they run it in the 10.59 1/4 mile ST - which is still the record to date

How much did it cost to have it shipped there and back? Was it ready to install or did you have to have anything else to install it after you got it back?

I went with a level 10 transmission out NJ after all. Yes you can get a new upgraded valve buddy, clutches etc, and buy each part separately or as a kit. I upgraded the flex by Meziere and had the tq converter built. It’s an absolute menace. You can get the trans tuned remotely by a number of tuners.

How well does your transmission shift on the twisty roads? I like drag racing, but I also love driving in the country hills and valley and the twisty roads, up shifting, down shifting....I would like a tranny that can shift quickly and crisp. As close to a dual clutch as possible I guess. Sounds like you did your homework!

Insanely quick. Took almost 3 tenths of my time in the 1/4. I have a few internals for the motor to install and I think I’ll be at the record time of 10.4ish.. when u paddle down shift before your fingers Are off the paddle it’s already engaged. Def recommend the valve body suncoast sells, all other components were level 10

Level 10 is good, but RSA builds the best trannys if you’re able to get to them or send a tranny to them. Either way, a built tranny is a built tranny, and it’ll definitely show the difference.

RSA uses a stock ford valve body in their “built” transmission with an RSA sticker on it.. and raybestos clutch’s and fibers. No different than any other kits. Suncoast valve body is beyond superior with a wayyyy higher clamping force valve body than RSA and a higher flow pump than RSA. Level 10 uses the same clutch’s and fibers and filters as RSA but you can buy a better valve body and pump from suncoast than RSA… research pays off big time.
I wouldn’t go RSA unless you’re chasing a name. Part it together and get the best possible parts out there and let a shop that specializes solely in bullet proofing/beefing up transmissions and you’ll have the best out there. And you’ll save about 2500 vs RSA

Your literally pay thousands for stock internals with their sticker on em.. ask Don at rsa, their valve bodies are bone stock oem from ford. Not built or beefed up AT ALL
