Can anyone tell me how to turn off the annoying highway warning notifications that always pop up? They are a pain because they don't disappear until you touch the screen.

I was embarrassed to admit I had no idea too.
I think he means the Sirius XM Travelink Traffic Update Notifications. They are annoying same with the weather alerts.

I'm confused too since I get on and off the highway multiple times a day with my commute and don't get these. If it's linked to the sirius that would explain since I use CarPlay. Hopefully you figure it out.

Can you take a photo of the notification possibly?

Sounds like the problem. No satellite service for me, either. I have no need.

So here is what the notification looks like (attached). They happen at least 3-5 times whenever I'm driving. Any idea how to shut it off for good? It would be somewhat tolerable if they were onscreen temporarily, but they only close after hitting the "Close" button.

To enable or disable the Local Hazard Information setting:

  1. Make sure your vehicle is on, running, and in park.
  2. Press Settings on the bottom feature bar on the SYNC® 3 touchscreen.
  3. Select FordPass Connect.
  4. Tap In-Vehicle.
  5. Select Connected Settings.
  6. Toggle OFF for the following:
    • Local Hazard Information

Let me check my vehicle when I get home. I was searching online. It might be under another menu. I'll get back with you in an hour or so.

Thanks. I connected my cell via USB, and there is no SYNC 3 in veh or on my cell, though I do have FordPass.

Weird because even with the phone plugged in (as the instructions state), there are "No apps Found." On the "Sirius XM Travel Links" page, there are several notification settings, and some can be turned off (like weather notification), but the traffic notifications cannot.

Not sure what setting might work here.

Try settings -> navigation -> route preferences

Then disable dynamic route guidance.

Unfortunately I do not see anything that indicates local hazard information. That setting might do it but it may come with undesirable results since it won't take traffic into account if you use the cars navigation.

I just use my phone and android auto. The stock maps thing sucks pretty bad.

We got a couple of those on the way back from NY. We took the advice, had a nice twenty-minute drive through some Virginia countryside and got back to the interstate south of the obstruction. We were at least impressed. We didn't spend an hour stuck in wreck traffic.

Thank you for trying. I may just call SIRUS XM and have them disable the feature.
