I’ve always welded panels and I was ready to TIG these but a friend that does this stuff for a living said this is the way forward with aluminum.

Here we go…test fit for placement.
View attachment IMG_2299.jpeg

Gonna need a bigger hole.
View attachment IMG_2298.jpeg

Bigger hole cut and edge flanged all around so the pieces fit flush.

Final test fits.

Panel bonded and riveted into place. Once it dries overnight I’ll remove the rivets then final body work can start.

I don’t know what’s up with images loading the last day or so. I’m not doing anything differently.

@UNBROKEN, Are you tying this into the intake, using it to evacuate hot air or is it primarily a visual effect?

Looks awesome! I can't believe Ford makes us go through this to get a decent hood while the slow, whack Durango R/T comes with a pretty cool vented hood.

It’s even better than I hoped…it was worth the effort to hunt down the Jeep hood even if it did take half a year. IMG_2315.jpeg

^^^Man those look super BEEFY!
I wish I got to see them. I had them sent straight to my buddy that’s doing the work to the car. I won’t see them unless I crawl under it and look when I get home…the wife and I are going to chill out in Belize for a bit.

Parts are prepped and ready…gonna try to get them fit and bonded in tomorrow or Sat then it’s gonna be ugly for a while. Never used panel bond before so I’m gonna drive with it a while in primer to make sure nothing cracks.
That stuff works amazing. I had to use that to repair the tabs at the bottom of my mustang back in the day.
