I can’t believe I waited so long to do the Aviator screen swap. It’s hands down my favorite interior mod. IMG_6289.jpeg

Did you replace the fake carbon fiber plastic trim? If so, do you have a quick job guide?

I did. I found those pieces from another trim Explorer that are smooth then I wrapped them in piano black vinyl to match the center stack and rear console. No idea what trim or model…I found them on eBay.

SOrry, I wasn't very clear. How do I get to them? What do I disassemble/reassemble to make the change? I hate the fake carbon fiber and was thinking about wrapping like you did or applying alcantara.

Pull off the center trim…it just snaps on then pop the fake CF pieces off. It all snaps together. I think I had to pop off the outer vents…which also just snap on. It’s a wonder these things don’t fall apart just driving down the road. lol

Looks nice. How did you handle the backside of the Lincoln display?

What did you end up doing for the lower portion of the screen? Did you modify the plastic piece on the bottom as the chrome border is too small to cover it. Did you find another screen to get the chrome border? I will be doing this mod soon, still designing the bracket to mount the screen. It will be similar to the one from Dariusz, but I have my own 3D printer and can model it up. The lower part of the screen I just do not have any ideas for right now.
