Hi everyone on my 2020 Explorer, ST myself and another mechanic have come across a noise that cannot be identified. It’s intermittent. At normal, driving through the city streets as well as normal accelerating on the highway it doesn’t happen, but if you give it a little bit of beans either from a dead stop or pull on the expressway, I have a strange, grinding sound. We wrecked the explorer and did standard checks, and nothing obvious is staring us in the face. No leaks, no broken parts no loose parts, everything seems to be in order of the best recording. I can get this thing if anyone has any ideas, I would greatly appreciate some guidance.

I am having a similar issue, that is also intermittent. When accelerating at highway speeds or even driving and going 90-100mph or higher I am hearing a grinding noise when braking. The noise sounds primarily like it is from the passenger front area. With the grinding noise it also feels like the brakes aren't engaging as they should (longer stopping distance/doesn't feel like it is slowing down as quickly as it should, it will scare you when it happens). The noise continues until you have essentially come to a stop. Then once you start going again the noise is gone and brakes are great. I also drive it in sport mode most times and it has only been in sport mode when this happens. I have inspected my brake pads and there is plenty of life on inboard and outboard pads. I have no lights when it happens and all fluids are good, no leaks. Not exactly the same issue, but if someone has heard of this issue and has had a successful remedy, I would love to hear it.
