I've been having intermittent Sync and screen problems the past month or so. I did a master reset and it made the screen move faster and eliminated some but not all of the issues. It still randomly tunes to AM or FM instead of the last Sirius channel I was tuned to. Also my number of preset pages and display backgrounds defaults to the standard settings. Also, sometimes the automatic updates gets turned off and Navigation history gets deleted. The worst thing that stopped happening after reset was the map only loading on the bottom half of the screen while the top half was blank. Hopefully this latest update will fixes these things and doesn't mess up other things.
I don't think those are known bugs necessarily. Maybe the AM/FM if you are starting the car and it doesn't resume the last audio source. Maybe you are having battery issues? Really weird symptoms can occur.

Battery did cross my mind. It is almost 20 months old and the original battery from 2019 lasted about 19 months. I don't have any other battery symptoms like slow to start or auto start/stop not working but then again I didn't have any symptoms the first time the battery completely died with no warning at a red light. Lucky it was under warranty and it will be the second time too.

Well, hopefully the 2nd battery is still good but if this was a warranty change out, maybe not! I just changed my 2019 battery a few months ago. First symptom? I could not update Sync via USB--would never say "updating software..." 2nd symptom? Voltage when car running was always 14.6-14.7V. After the battery is charged, should start dropping to 12.8V or so.

In any case, 23088 installed in about 20 minutes. Did master reset. No issues so far.

This was the second time in 3 years I've had to do a master reset. The first time my GPS was stuck in the wrong location and would not update with a soft reset. The master reset did the trick.

Was just reading a couple of Cyanlab threads on 22251. Apparently there are problems with it, including settings getting switched to default. Hopefully these are corrected in 23088. New NA22 (and other) maps were also discovered so maybe 23088 was released to support the new maps.

Fingers crossed the update fixes everything and the battery won't leave me stranded again like in 2021!

Any updates on this latest Sync? My ‘23 started having screen problems. I’m trying to narrow it down and think its when it sits in the hot sun. Was 102deg today and it started. It eventually corrects itself. But it acts like you are touching the screen multiple times trying to set waypoints which I’m not.
Anyone else notice this during your st sitting in hot sun?

As for FP or otherwise, I have not seen any updates to mine via ota. Nor have I seen them or even new maps avail.
If I run my vin on website to check for maps, it says the site is only for older years or something like that. Other than cyan, I see no options via Ford. Tomorrow, I will run an AB comparison.

So, again. Did that latest sync resolve any of those issues?

What is an AB comparison? I have not heard of that before.

New here, so maybe this has already been discussed and considered.

Ford issued a recall for camera systems going to a blue screen; however, they have yet to actually provide a fix. We received a call from our dealer notifying us and had them setup to come to our house to do it. The morning of they canceled and stated the previous “fix” was deemed to not work and they would reschedule us when it was. Later we received the official letters from Ford in the mail.

To my knowledge this still isn’t resolved. While I understand it’s different it lives in the same area and I’m curious if there is some overlap potential at some magnitude.

Probably a long shot.

2 different issues. No fix yet for either one.

including settings getting switched to default
This one is irritating me now. I never had any problems so far with that version. For the past one week the display was resetting back to Auto theme, while I have kept it to Night multiple times.

I initially thought the system automatically updated over WiFi or it had something to do with all my FORScan changes to the module. I have reset the system to factory yesterday and switched to night mode again. Hope it stays this time.

Factory reset still retains all of the FORScan changes and some of the phone and radio presets. Had to reconnect with Ford pass though.

You may need to wait up to a year before doing a map update. I and others with 2022 models had the same problem. I seems that VINs are not loaded into their data base for map updates until much later. I had mine for nearly a year until I could do that. One day suddenly everybody with 2022 models could get the update. The updates do not come from Ford, but are from a third party. If their system does not have your VIN it just says your vehicle is not new enough to get map updates.

your APIM is out of memory and for some reason it is no longer being cleared. 22251 and 23088 share this problem. Unless you can downgrade to an older version, you have to wait until Ford comes out with a fix. I managed to install 22200 with the help of Cyanlabs but it wasn't without risk. I'm no longer going to play the "keeping up with updates" game with Ford because clearly they can't be trusted. Not even doing map updates since i use Carplay for mapping.

Would disconnecting the battery clear the APIM memory?

does nothing more than a soft reset would do.

I havent had any issues *knocks on wood*, still running and still slow like its always been.

One thing, not sure if its a coincidence, but I have not gotten the blue screen reverse camera anymore since updating to the latest Sync. I was still on an old build from a year ago since I had turned off the auto update.

If something was sold as working the way it was supposed to work than I want it to work that way. It’s part of what I paid for.

And after it works the way it should than it’s my option to turn it off or not.

I honestly couldn’t give a rats ass if Ford knows what sync version I’m on. What I care about is if I get on the Ford site and search for if a new sync version was released it would be an easy compare to see. These days I can’t remember what address I live at let alone remember what version of sync is in the ST
Well said ! I have to agree with you ..Like any of these updates have fixed something good! Like the back up camera or fixed the dam screen so the whole thing actually worked ..
