Vinyl wrap on OEM 20” rims

Just bought my ST last week and sadly it didn’t come with the black 21’s. So while I search around for the best aftermarket rims to buy and install I took an evening to wrap the face of the standard 20” rims. (Really like all black rims on this color)

I’ve wrapped a lot of random things but never wheels. Theoretically the wrap should hold up to heat. The film gets softer and more moldable with low heat, but tends to “reset” to its original form when it’s heated up under tension.
The only place I’m worried about that reset with high heat is at the edges. But luckily that would be an easy fix if it happened.

That’s impressive. I like it. Maybe I’ll add clear protectant to mine.

Doesn't sound like a bad idea at all. So is this just a standard clear coat like one would do with paint? Or is there another material/chemical used for vinyl?

I don't know...I was just seconding the idea from Jschaffer above. I'm thinking this might be useful in keeping the wheels cleaner longer? But now that I think about it, maybe not. Does vinyl resist water spots? Maybe it would be good for that?
