WARNING recall 22S27 is more than what they are telling us

I had the recall done last Monday and have been getting used to releasing the parking brake. Today the D/A was kinda low for the temp so I decided to try another run on my favorite mexican road. I just put a fresh tank of E30 in so I thought I could get a decent run. The best I could manage was a 14.16@96mph. I tried three different runs and that was the best I could get. I also noticed the shifting was soft like stock and I could only get to 2200 rpm on the brake stand launch. So not only does the recall reprogram the parking brake, but it puts the ECM/TCM back to stock.

Not yet, Just got back from the store and had to put the groceries away. After breakfast I'll try. Stay tuned.

Any PCM flash will revert to stock. I wonder if the strategy code is the same with just the addition of the parking brake. I also wonder if you just flash your aftermarket tune, does the parking brake addition go away too then? Would you need your tuner to revise the new stock tune to retain the e-brake? At the very least, I would make sure to save the new stock tune.

Good news, the HP software and the ZFG tune was able to overwrite the recall update and I now have my tune back. Earlier today I pulled a 5.79 0-60. After I reloaded the tune I got a 4.34 0-60. Now for the really good news, the parking brake update has disappeared, It operates just like it did before the recall. Ford now thinks the recall has been performed, but It has been reverted to prior recall operation.

That will make some people happy. But I wonder what would happen if the bolt would break. Would they deny warranty if they seen the update had been removed? Or if you saved the change before reinstalling your tune can it be redone so that the parking brake get applied when put into park? Just asking is all.

Your parking brake should still auto release like before the recall.

It doesn't auto lock anymore like it did with the recall, so auto release is a moot point.

I'd be curious if ZFG has looked at the recall update to see if the torque management values have changed over the original "factory" calibration?

People need to read the manual maybe just once to get the most of their fully equipped vehicle! There are features you don't even know you have unless you look. I absolutely LOVE auto-hold and this is my first vehicle with that. Most everything else I've had on my last couple Lincolns.

People need to read the manual maybe just once to get the most of their fully equipped vehicle! There are features you don't even know you have unless you look. I absolutely LOVE auto-hold and this is my first vehicle with that. Most everything else I've had on my last couple Lincolns.
Yeah, you’re really pushing contemporary sanity to require someone to actually “read the fucking manual” (RTFM). Hell, there’s probably sentences with more than 10 words! They will just try to type “too long; didn’t read” (TL;DR)!!!

Exactly my thought. But but he's already tuning his ST so he's not concerned about warranties.

I have not read replys sorry if repeated but you have to tell them when you drop off do not flash my computer. If the work is computer related then you have to get your tune out and save it so you can reload after.

Exactly what rpm is the power brake launch with the tune? Asking for my 3 bolt.

The stall speed of your convertor is highly dependent on tq output of the engine. Apparently when stock, the engine only makes enough tq to reach around 2200 rpm. When tuned you can get much higher, but I only go to 2500 rpm as my brakes won't hold much past that (I have the standard brakes).
