Prior to coming over to the Ford Explorer world, I had a total of (4) four very different Mustangs (2010 GT V8 convertible, 2016 GT V8 convertible, a 2017 V6 Convertible and a 2017 I-4 Ecoboost coupe). As I said, 2 had the "H-Pipe" replacement for the mid chassis resonator post cat converter and before curving over the rear axle. I found the H-Pipe 1)adds some sound quality to the otherwise stock exhaust (yes, you can hear it slightly louder but not annoying, 2) there is minimal drone which is important in convertible cars 3) you eliminated about 30 plus pounds of total vehicle weight (H-pipe vs resonator) and 4) the entire job can be much cheaper than a new exhaust system. MRT has H-Pipes for $300 and they take about a hour to install at a quality muffler shop. I found a slight improvement in performance with the H-pipe. I plan to make this upgrade at the end of March after I complete some travel.
