Hey Guys,
Just purchased a 2025 Platinum 3.0 "Ya I know it's not a ST" I have been driving a 2016 and thought it was time for a upgrade. My 2016 was just their plane V6, this twin turbo is quite a bit more fun to drive. I have been a Ford fan for years, had a 1969 Mach 1 with a 428 CJ and a 1972 Ford Gran Torino with a numbers matching 429. The Mustang was fast in stock condition, the Torino not so much being a smog motor, I found a 1969 429 SCJ down in Kentucky so my buddy and I took a trip down to pick that up and took it to Total Performance in Mt. Clemens Michigan, and had them do a stroker, made it a 514cuin roller, ported heads big valves, aluminum instake topped off with a 1050 dominator, NOS pro fogger direct port, modded the C6 trans with SVO parts and converter3, 3" exhaust with 4 flowmasters. Blah blah, It went from so so to lots of fun in a hurry. At this point I don't plan on doing any major mods to this car, although one never knows.
Pete

Congradulations! Welcome to the forum! There's a lot that can be done to these performance wise. Tune is probably the bigest return for your money. Upgrading the intercooler is the first place to start. Here is a good list that was done by @2020FordRaptor: Modding Guide

Hello everyone!
My name is Rafael and I live in sunny South Florida, I'm excited to join this ExplorerSV community! I've been a fan of the Explorer for years and recently got my hands on a salvage 2022 Ford Explorer ST and I couldn't be happier, got it at a bargain and will need some repairs for sure, so what better time to work on some mods to improve the ride and power. Looking forward to connecting with fellow Explorer SV enthusiasts to share tips, mods, and stories!
Excited to be here and learn more from all of you!

Welcome to the forum! Looks like you got a nice project there! Certainly a good time to get mods done. Get a good intercooler, intake, charge pipes, exhaust, beef up the suspension and lower it and then get a tune. You’ll have one fun ride! Lots you can do with this platform.

Thank you for the welcoming comments, I already ordered a Steeda intercooler since they are fairly close, any recommendations on tune companies, also downpipes, I see some are catted some are not, when they say catted, does it mean that the downpipe still comes with a cat?

Yes. The ones without cats a meant for the track due to emissions. I chose to go with the SPD 3" downpipes because I went with the Thermal R&D 3" exhaust. As for a tune, ZFG Racing is at the top right now. He has the DMS (Drive Mode Specific) tune which allows you to have three different tunes. For instance, I have mine set up like this: Sport mode = Race, Normal mode = Performance and Ecconomy mode = Stock+. You can check them out here: ZFG Racing You can also check out the modding guide by @2020FordRaptor here.

ZFG or Goosetuned are the best.

Yes, the downpipes has a catalytic converter. I’m firmly against an catless downpipe for these vehicles.
