Hello,
Matt here from Arizona. Been following the forum for quite a while and decided to buy a 2020 ST last November with 20k miles on it. Never bought a ford before came from a 2015 base model Mazda 3 so quite an upgrade. Really enjoying it so far but already running into repairs which is making me nervous. Anyways glad to be here. Also is there a way to upload videos? It makes a strange sound after it has sat for a bit when I open the driver side door and can’t find anything anywhere on it would love to find out what it is. Thanks in advance.
Welcome to the forum.

Picked up a ‘24 ST with 7k on it. New to the ST, not new to Explorer’s, I manage a fleet of 130 of them for a government agency. I have owned 16-19’s, so I thought I’d step it up a bit. Looking forward to seeing what there is to learn.

Just traded 21 Black ST for a new Black 25 ST (great job Bob Tomes Ford). Like the refresh but still a few adjustments to get used to.
Never did much to the 21 (Stop/Start Eliminator and upgraded air filter! ) but likely to be more aggressive with mods to the 25.
Interested in ideas for the mods.

Any plans for a new engine air filter and maybe some improvement with the exhaust? I have about 600 miles on my ST and the K&N Engine Filter was a nice addition. My next step will be an "H-pipe" just like I had on 2 of my previous Mustangs.

Curious about the H pipe and its effects, any details?

Prior to coming over to the Ford Explorer world, I had a total of (4) four very different Mustangs (2010 GT V8 convertible, 2016 GT V8 convertible, a 2017 V6 Convertible and a 2017 I-4 Ecoboost coupe). As I said, 2 had the "H-Pipe" replacement for the mid chassis resonator post cat converter and before curving over the rear axle. I found the H-Pipe 1)adds some sound quality to the otherwise stock exhaust (yes, you can hear it slightly louder but not annoying, 2) there is minimal drone which is important in convertible cars 3) you eliminated about 30 plus pounds of total vehicle weight (H-pipe vs resonator) and 4) the entire job can be much cheaper than a new exhaust system. MRT has H-Pipes for $300 and they take about a hour to install at a quality muffler shop. I found a slight improvement in performance with the H-pipe. I plan to make this upgrade at the end of March after I complete some travel.

Thanks. Curious how it sounds when you’re done.
I’ve thought about doing this as well but haven’t found anyone that’s done it or found any clips on the ST.

Fmoser:
Try this video:

They are very subtle and not tooooooo aggressive like many of the aftermarket exhaust add-ons are.
