Are the CAN 93 performance tunes worth anything, any true gains? Also, im running stock, will a zfg tune wake it up more? Or do I need to start modding. I want fast, not crazy fast

We don't support sct, if you haven't opened it yet you should return it and purchase an hp tuners device.

And yes our tunes will be noticeable better than any canned tunes.

Yeah I would go with the above ZFG heard nothing but good things about them, or look into GooseTuned.
ZFG uses HP tuners
GooseTuned uses COBB

The SCT canned tunes are worthless compared to a ZFG. ZFG will definitely wake it up more, plus it will drive a lot better. Only other mod I would recommend is an intercooler with the tune.

As you’ve read, dump the SCT crap for either Goose or ZFG. Both are great with ZFG currently edging out Goose in total results, but Goose wins hand-down in customer service. I run ZFG and it’s literally the best tuning available for the ST.

Another vote for ZFG. I love the DMS tune! SCT is not the way to go with this platform.

ZFG DMS tune + choice of intercooler upgrade is my vote. Do the IC first if you can't do it all at once, IMHO its a necessity. The stock unit they installed should be a crime. From my research here and around the net, exhaust upgrades seems to be for fun or to get away from frequently breaking stock garbage except for some gains if you go all out with downpipes.

Hello,
For the money, get an SCT tuner and go with Matt at Gearhead tuners.
Great service and on E50 tune I'm into the high 11's.
I'm sure ZFG may be a bit faster by a couple tenths of a second bit the cost had me look elsewhere.

Will Gearhead's tune work with a RTD flasher?

I’m not sure but if you have an RTD why not go with top dog ZFG?

Welcome to the forum! I don't believe he works with the RTD. He uses the SCT X4. As said above, if you already have an RTD, go with ZFG. Not much more to have a DMS tune and be able to switch tunes (Stock+, Performance, Race, etc.) on the fly.

Well. My luck I live in California. What is the best place to get a tune in SoCal? I like Gearhead's tune results based what I have researched. Would love to do that one, but can't ship to SoCal. :(

Ship to a family member that lives outside of CA then they can ship it to you.

As much as I would love to move, my roots are here. Looks like COBB is legal for CA. Going to look into goose tuned cobb. Thanks

I couldn’t agree more. I’ve been using gearhead auto octane tune for 6 months. Sure ZFG may be a tenth or 2 faster. But I’m running mid-low 12’s with just a tune on 93. The drivability is awesome for around town. Matt really does a good job. For the money I also didn’t see the point going to zfg. If I was racing this thing weekly sure. But for my daily kid getter I’m not going to notice a tenth or 2 driving around town. It was also a no brainer for me since I had the sct from a previous vehicle.
