I didnt get as smoking of a deal as some got on here, but I was obviously ok with it enough to move forward:

21 ST, no sun roof, Tech pack and Street pack.
56090 MSRP
2299 dealer discount
1250 ford credit rebate
52541 sell price(plus TT&L)

Had I gone to a different dealer I might have gotten another 1000 or so off total. Saw quite a few where the overall discount was ~4.5-5k, but that was INCLUDING the 1250 ford finance and usually also a 750 "select inventory" cash on stale inventory(and as I called around MOST turned out to be demo's with 2-5k miles on them). So on paper my 2299 doesnt look "great" but really was within 500-1000 of the discounts I was seeing elsewhere... I also would have had to compromise on color or options and every other one i saw had the sunroof so they all were starting at $1700 more, so a larger discount was almost moot to the bottom line.

I had a trade in that I pushed them up $2500 from their initial offer on also.

I wonder if I got a better deal because I didn’t have a Trade in? The finance manager kind of hinted that they have an abnormal amount of used cars that nobody is buying due to the financing incentives on new cars offered through Ford.

That I cant tell you. If it was an early 2021 it seemed dealers have more incentive to move them. Most of the ST's I saw around here that had pretty good discounts on them AND qualified for the "select inventory cash" i.e. stale inventory were being driven as demo's...which didnt interest me.

I actually talked to a guy at Automax down in Killeen after reading your post. He didnt have any ST's that interested me so I didnt push them too far, but I asked him about a few platinum's... He wouldnt tell me if their "internet price"(which on the two ST's they currently have show a 4694 Automax Discount) included the 1250 ford financing or not. He wanted me sitting there. I'm like "i live in dallas, no way am I driving down there unless its to pick up a vehicle"... MOST of the websites from what I could see listed a discount similar to what I got, then they broke out the Ford incentives further down.

The "best deal" I found in Texas was in Crosby. They were doing like 9% off MSRP and then the Ford incentives on top of that... but the guy there wouldnt answer my question on "dealer add-on's"... which to me says "yea there is 2-3k of non negotiable dealer add-on's to achieve the "advertised" price"...

In my post in the new members section I talked about a dealer I tried to deal on a left over 2020...13k off MSRP but then they stick this 4k dealer add-on package in that cant be negotiated away... turning a stellar deal, into crap....

So again, I probably didnt get the most smoking deal out there, but I was contemplating ordering one since I didnt want the sunroof(and 99% of all ST's and Platinums have it). I would have paid Invoice minus incentives on that order which I figured was MSRP minus 1900 and then the two options(tech and street) only have like a 150 combined total markup from invoice, so 2050 from MSRP to invoice... I got 2299 off MSRP... So smoking deal, no not really, but about what I would have paid had I custom ordered it.

2021 ST: Not sure if this helps, but I am about to lease one and with my trade in assistance and incentives ford is offering I got: MSRP $57,985.....Selling price $50,959 plus taxes and fees in the state of NJ.

Feel like that's a good price for the 2021. Any input on that or should I keep chewing?

Hey I only got this deal because i'm considered a preferred customer since I knew the director of business at the dealerships. I would share , but I don't want to put the sales rep in a weird position where you are showing him my numbers and he gets backed up in a corner. He gave it to me below invoice. I really only came on here to share my deal, not to use it as a leveraging tool. Hope you understand!

Just trying to see what people paid for the ST including any rebates that you got, Without a trade in, and of course if you have sales tax like we do here in Chicago. I have been lurking around as I’m in the market for an SUV.
I got mine on the Ford X Plan Discouint + $1750 in rebates. netted out right at $58K - I had every option available except I did not get the Rear Entertainment Package - for $1800 whoever sits back there can bring their IPad

Did that price include taxes and fees? I am in the process on finding a dealer that will sell me an st at that price range now. Did yours have a moonroof, technology package and street pack?

Vehicle
2021 Explorer ST
Wife's ST

Sticker was $57,155
Selling Price was $52,100, after $1250 Rebate & 1.9% APR.
Got the 8yr, 125K Ford Platinum Service Contract, $100 Deductible for $2515
Could've saved $50, buying it online but, for $50, not going to bother.

had a trade in and my Cousin's Husband, the used car mgr, forgot he was not investing his money but the dealer Principle. I promptly reminded his cheap arse and got far more than I ever thought.
NOTE: Got to buy them a nice X-mas gift, this year.

He told me that tiemd it right, They sell 300+ new cars per month and only had 30 scheduled deliveries for next month.
Just checked the website and discounts are hardly given on anything hot.

Local News say that used car prices are going u due to lack of new car avaiability.

DAMMIT< I shoulda got more for trad!
They can forget about that Xmas gift now.

The prices in this thread are all over the place lol. What is the current deal I should be looking for on a new 2021 with a $59k price tag in the Tampa Bay Area? 5-8k off msrp?

Highly doubt it right now with tight inventory with the plant shut downs.

Check cargurus and see what all the dealers in your area are working with.

Ford incentives arent great right now. Looks like maybe 1k for financing with them and maybe some stale inventory cash out there right now.

I just looked on carguru's within 150 miles of Tampa and only 55 ST's out there. To get to that 59k MSRP you would be street pack, sun roof, tech pack, etc... I see a blue that looks priced well until you read the add and the dealer has 2k dealer add-on package...pass.... There is likewise a carbonized grey and white at that same dealer, likely also 2k dealer add-on package... There is a loaded silver in Saint Cloud, but the deal isnt that great(~3k off MSRP, but that includes the 1250 ford finance cash, so really only like 2k off from the dealer).

$56,313 plus TT&L, gap, and extended warranty on the 2021 Ford Explorer ST with no trade. Bought on Dec. 29th 2020, out of state. Friend was the seller and took no commission. Dealership wouldn’t budge lower, and Ford gave no incentives.

Opted out of roof rack, rear entertainment, and High Street pkg. These options weren’t priority.

MSRP $58130

We are about to pull the trigger on a new ST, but most of the dealers around us in California are terrible and have massive markups on STs. I've never paid over MSRP for a vehicle and never will. :) Anyone have any good dealers to recommend in California (specifically Northern Carlifornia)? Perhaps a good sales person to work with? Thank you!!

Decent price for current market. Didn’t know the st even was able to get the rear entertainment setup.

Yeah you’re right. After looking some more, you’re right. Just tough that a lot of these vehicles were close to 40k 5 months ago.
