Has anyone had a look inside this bulge in the stock driver's side hot pipe?

I'm wondering if it's some type of sound reduction device.

The bulge, bro! I'm guessing that coupling thing right in the right-center of the picture.
Well I see that. Didn’t know that’s what you’d consider a bulge. I think that’s where the the little air-circulator things that people think are turbo silencers are. They aren’t turbo silencers, and actually help airflow. (Photo from an F150). IMG_3124.png
