Which fuse #'s to use for dashcam?

Wondering what others' experience has been on which are best fuse choices for 12V power, and Switched Auxiliary power?

Also I have yet to spot a ground lug nearby the interior fusebox.

Top right fuse under the dash...can’t remember but it’s 27 or 37 I think. It’s switched 12V. You’ll need a mini fuse tap.

Do you recall what you used for a ground post?
Do you run rear cam and if so did you route the cable through the hatch loom?

I only run a front cam. An Escort M1 that uses a single power wire for it and the Max 360 radar detector. I like easy.

there's a grounding bolt below and to the side of the fusebox on the driver's side.

the rear camera cable: yes, run through the rubber cable passage. it'll fit.

For anybody looking for a good close ground that is not under the brake pedal, pop off the plastic panel next to dash. THere's a trim screw that connects to the ground that the fuse panel connects to as well.

Thanks for the info! I’ve always just soldered stuff in but this car is too nice to start cutting stuff up. In my experience these hardware kits always go bad after a year of two anyways so the fuse taps are nice.

They should work. They will drop power when you park so they don’t kill your battery. I have 3 of them. My F150, my wife’s Edge and my new 25 ST. Work fine. Just make sure you get the one for your camera.

Yea, they should work to power the camera when the car is running. it’s just a 5 Volt buck converter with a convenient plug and play jumper. But this will not enable parking mode if that’s what you’re wanting. Parking mode requires one 12v always constant wire and one 12v switched (accessory) wire going to the parking mode harness with low voltage cutoff. Still that’s a super neat solution if you dont care about parking mode.
