My 23 is not a hybrid...why is the battery cover installed, other than having a small bit of heat shielding on it?????
I can see this empty shell.....being a road hazard..

Why do you call it a battery cover? Just because in the hybrid, that's where the battery is? It's an undershield, presumably for protection, air flow and noise rejection.

Noise rejection...I don't think so
Maybe a bit of aero smoothing
It's not tight to body and easily wiggles.
Which makes noise
Imo it is like having a big horn hanging out
I am going to remove it and put some deadening material on the bare skin
At least

You know that was a jab at the f150 diaper cover that departs from not being put on right after oil changes

It’s there for aerodynamics and fuel mileage. Any noise it may make is inaudible inside. Removing it would likely make even more noise from air passing the now rough undercarriage.
