Yeah, the de-icer was standard on the ST in 2020, then ford started their typical de-contenting and it disappeared in 21 and not only did they remove the heating element but they removed the entire harness that it plugged into.
The de-contenting' started mid 2020 as my 2020 does not have the windshield deicer, my friend's 2020 does. The games car manufacturers play - get the options boxes checked at new model launch, then slowly decontent or make as options...

I have to have the windshield replaced on my 21 ST. When you guys had yours replaced, did the oem replacement have the tinted strip at the top? All the ST's I've seen have this. Is this oem or a dealer add on? I really like having this so I want to make sure it's on the replacement
The windshields have to be calibrated for the various sensors in the overhead panel. Safelite did a quick correct replacement for me and did the calibration test drive in about an hour with appointment.
There is no switch they come on when you turn on your defrosters. Look at the bottom of your windshield you will see the heater strips like you have on your rear window.
I have to replace mine as well.
OEM is 750.00 installed
or aftermarket who I am told by the same manufacturer is 550.00'
The only difference would be the small explorer image on the lower part of the window.

Only the 20's got the heated windshield. My 21 did not come with it. If you would like to have that feature, pay the extra for the OEM glass, and tell them you have a 20 with the heated windshield so you will get the correct one. Ford also removed the wiring for the heated windshield so you will have to run your own circuit, but it can be done.

Back in the spring, my wife's ST got a rockchip on the way back home from TX. Our insurance has $0 out of pocket for replacement glass, so I made a schedule with Safelite. I inquired about getting an OEM one and they said sure massimo t boss 550 accessories, but, they have to order it and there is no ETA on when it can arrive, as they did not have any in stock right now. So far no issues with the aftermarket glass and everything works as expected.
I have this haze on my windshield and it's making me crazy. I'm pretty sure its the material between the two layers of glass and the only solution is to replace the windshield. Any tips on this? The windshield is also cracked so I'm thinking it might be time to replace it if possible. Are there good windshields and new gaskets readily available? Thanks in advance,

It's most likely buildup on the inside of the windshield. Get a mixture of 50/50 water and isopropyl alcohol 70% for your cleaning solution and a waffle weave MF towel. You might have to do multiple passes to get it clean. Do it for the inside and outside of the windshield, always using a clean side of the towel for final wipe.
I'm on windshield #2 from Safelite, no issues with the second one. Just had it replaced a couple of months ago for a crack in the corner.
