X-Pipe vs. H-Pipe

Wasn’t going to do it but oh well here it is. X-pipe vs. H-pipe and why you choose what you choose?

X makes it higher pitched…H makes it deeper….as a general rule. Since it won’t make any scavenging difference on a turbo car that’s really all you’re choosing.

Its just going to be paired with Rouch Mufflers that's all….

I would usually always say h pipe, but it comes to personal preference. IMO a 6-cylinder doesn’t need to be raspy or higher pitched. You need to give us more info too. How is it from the downpipes back? Custom exhaust? What Roush mufflers? Downpipes?

Still have stock downpipes. Stock piping, stock mid muffler until we reach the mufflers that's were its the Roush Axle Back. Let me post a video on here of how it currently sounds.

Where are you thinking of putting the x or h pipe? If you replace the resonator with an x or h pipe, it will most likely drone and sound not to good.

It will guarantee make the setup drone.

I think a lot of people will agree that it's not going to sound well and it's going to drone like crazy with that set up.

Ok than what setup do you suggest? At this point I already have the Roush axle back on so that’s not gonna change. And I’m not really worried about drone. What I’m worried about is it sounding good. Preferably a deep tone not raspy or high pitched. So what do you suggest from here? X-pipe? Stock resonator? Or what are you running on your ST?

For what you want, and can actually live with, just cut your losses…stop trying to piece together stuff that’s very likely to sound like crap and will 100% drone horrible on the highway and just get the 3” Thermal kit and be happy.
