ZFG: I guess I'm a fanboy now too

Have to admit, i was skeptical with some of the fanboys on here that seem so head over heels for ZFG. After roughly 12-15 tune revisions with 5-Star, this initial baseline tune from Adam is leaps and bounds ahead of them. When I initially bought the tune, ZFG charged me $15 for "shipping" despite nothing being shipped (other than via email since I have an RTD device), but I'm going to chalk that up to a small $15 tip for an amazing tune so far. ZFG is a double barrel shotgun to 5-star's nerf gun. The gear shifts just click in like clicks of a mouse, and in sport mode, they feel like they're chirping the tires. The thing doesnt stop pulling. It's only been 2 days but BIG Shout out to the Unbrokens, LokiWolfs, etc that told us so haha. My only defense is that i tried but missed the initial ZFG tuning window by 1 day and had to have something to bridge the gap!

And now you know why we speak so highly of him. lol
I went through the same thing with my Whippled F150….used a well regarded tuner but it just never felt “right”. I saw all the OZ fanboys and decided to give him a shot even though it cost me another grand for the blower tune. The very first tune fixed all my original concerns and it only got better from there.

I'm on the wagon for sure. I'm wondering though, what changes did you guys request of Adam? I dont have enough wheel time yet to notice anything in particular but just curious.

Mostly just datalogs and letting Adam change the things he felt necessary then dialing in shift preferences.

Quick question, Will the Nguage work with ZFG tunes? I have one but it’s from 5star and I want to try ZFG.. I did submit a message to ZFG a few minutes ago but probably won’t hear back until tomorrow or so.

Can you give more detail on shift prefs? Changing what RPM each shift is done at, tweaking the firmness, etc?

Pretty much what you just said. It’s personal preference and he’ll dial in whatever you like.

Guys… I apologize if this has been covered before, I did not see anything on a quick search in the forum. Does it matter if I get the MVPI2 or RTD? This is new to me considering I have only used the Nguage. Only asking because the RTD is not instock and it says Racing tune? The other MVP standard is available.

I've purchased an RTD, just waiting for Adam to start accepting customers again. Is he doing so now?

Did you put yourself on the waiting list?

He is working through the list now. Has been for several weeks.

you’ll be happy with zfg. I was a bit skeptical about the hype also but it really wakes it up.
My mpg has gone down a bit but that is due to the extra fun of hitting the gas.

Surprisingly, ZFG cant add RPMs to the normal mode gauge cluster in the driver display. Im tempted to send him the 5-star tune to see if he can copy/paste lol

You know, none of this is helping with the wait. Feeling like Tom Petty over here. It's my time to buy from ZFG but I'm just waiting on the California approval. :(

Or you could also be Lou Reed!
