Faint hum when I turn the wheel

Just wondering if the faint hum I’m hearing is normal when I turn my steering wheel-it’s so slight that the only reason I heard it is because my AC was off. I have to bring it to Ford next month for the first oil change and was wondering if I should get it checked out.

Why not get it checked out. After all, last thing you need is for something to go out after warranty.

That’s the plan-just wanted to see if anyone had the same issue. My local dealership is crazy busy so the least amount of time spent there the better!

Mine makes a whine (not power-steering pump whine). I figure it's the motor for the electric steering.

Yes you’re correct-our vehicles have electronic steering and I’m pretty sure it’s the module that makes the noise.

Yeah I get that as well in mine, it's the electronic steering 100%.
