How old is your battery? I have found with these that they tend to do weird things based on the battery voltage. Mine was even more of an oddity in that I never saw the battery saver message and never had any dtc or wrench lights pop up. There was a stored code for the starter that I listed...

It seems like the starter has taken care of the starting/voltage issues but I won't know until I get it back. I can see today when they started the repair my battery voltage was at 74%. Last week with the bad battery etc it was 0%.

In the initial message to me, they didn't say if this was covered. I don't see why it wouldn't be though.

Electronically, you can't shift out of park (knob doesn't even move) unless the vehicle is running. You can put it in neutral using the manual lever under the armrest.

For those who are bored, I'll keep this updated. Towed it away tonight. Tow truck driver was unable to jump it. Had to figure out the manual neutral... That was fun. Not as easy as it seems but got it. Maybe I'll hear something tomorrow evening.

Pretty sure I will have to tow it tonight. I tried to jump start just now and no go. Battery voltage goes down to 6.5v now during crank and it no longer cranks at all, it just clicks. Also have a P06E9 code stored (starter PCM fault. No check engine light on, just a stored code.)

Correct. Mustang battery starts mustang but not explorer. Explorer battery doesn't start anything.
