‘22 Order Error - Timeline

My wife and I ordered an ST in December but that order was somehow screwed up. It has already been built, but some how two of the features we wanted didn’t show up on the order (moonroof and roof rails). Luckily I was reviewing the window sticker and noticed the discrepancy before it got out of hand.

Cue us ordering a second one due to the dealer’s mistake on the 22nd of January. For that one we still haven’t received a VIN

What has everyone seen timeline-wise?

Our order of events:
ST #1
12/23/21 - Order placed and confirmed
1/6/22 - Scheduled for production (3/28)
1/19/22 - Rescheduled production (1/24)
2/4/22 - Build complete - Ship date created (2/28)

ST #2
1/22/22 - Order placed and confirmed (with high priority)

Let me tell you it’s very frustrating having to re-submit our order a whole month later… :/ Given what people have been saying, order fulfillment has definitely slowed down which is disappointing. The dealer specifically told us that the moonroofs have been a cause of most of the delays due to the chip shortage which makes it suck even more. I’m expecting the car will probably take until at least May at this point but it was so exciting to see the first one potentially being here in a few more weeks.

11/18/22 - Scheduled for production on 1/6/22
1/10ish/22 - I could view BCM module communication information, estimated delivery of 2/5/22
2/4/22 - Estimated delivery pushed out to 5/6/22

Eff that sucks that delivery was pushed out so far! We fully loaded the ST aside from the entertainment screens (I mean why do these exist anymore) and I’m sure that’s going to make it a long wait.
How do you view the BCM module data? I saw someone was able to get the Ford app activated after trying to activate repeatedly to see the location.

This is the module site. I think I only saw BCE modules active, maybe I’m waiting on PCM “chips”

got an email last night saying May 27th.. fml

10/10 guide! I just wish I had my VIN number on the replacement car :’( I reached out to my dealer to verify the priority status on the replacement as they said they would try and push it as high as they could due to their mistake. Probably nothing that can be done though as I think they said the commit parts before production is scheduled so I imagine I’ll be waiting for the moonroof for awhile…. Shouldn’t have added it! Ha

My only benefit is being close to Chicago and not having to have it ride by rail. I’ve heard rail capacity is super strained right now, granted I’ve also heard that there is a shortage on truck drivers as well. COVID and poor pre-COVID supply chain decisions have really eff’d our bounce back in manufacturing!

I ordered a week before you and I still don't have a VIN . But you have alredy had one built lol. dude just take it and count your lucky stars it got! it may be summer before I get mine it is looking like..

Haha my dealer is in Minnesota! You’d have to make a trip to Inver Grove Ford. You can have it after I give it a whirl as it’s set to be here February 19th! I’m still set on all the features I configured so I won’t be taking it. Our new order is a priority 10 due to the mess up so hopefully it comes a bit earlier than the rest.

That’s interesting. From what I understand though, the moonroof modules are the ones super backordered due to the shortages. The first order was mistakenly without the moonroof and roof rails so maybe that’s why?

My next order is the highest priority that can be assigned to a customer order so hopefully that helps with timing.

well.. I gotna text last night from a salesman at a dealership 1 hr away from me. He said the owners wife (who happens to be a 90 year old woman) turned her demo back in yesterday.. And it happned to be a 21 silver ST with 4 k miles. I said I would be there in the morning lol. They sold it to me for invoice price plus the 1k factory incentive. and 0% for 60. lol.

So somone else can pick up that one in MN lol

Happy to say mine arrived at the dealer on Tuesday. Wondering if the change to May was some cosmic efff up..

Are you by chance in Kansas / Oklahoma area? I have a very similar story about a dealer near me that offered to sell a silver ST demo that was being turned in by the owner. I passed 'cause wife said no to the silver color.

Priority was 10. Carbonized Gray, 401A, roof, tech package with ST High Package.
