Backup sensor malfunction

I've been having issues with my backup sensor going off when nothing is there. It's always the same place. Sometimes it shuts down my reverse parking sensors all together.

I've even removed my menacing trailer hitch and still no change.

Any ideas?

Bad sensor? Have you taken it to your dealer?

One of my front sensors does this occasionally too, but nothing consistent.

I'm planning on mentioning it in the next oil change at the dealers. That is if I cannot fix it first. Perhaps I bumped a sensor when working on the muffler?!?

I'll check the cabling. Not sure what half those electronics are back there.

Looked around but could not find anything loose or disconnected. Guess the dealer is the only way to get this resolved.

I'm getting sick of finding issues with this SUV! It's starting to change my mind on keeping it.

I had this problem when I washed the car in cold weather and after driving for a while, the water droplets froze covering multiple sensors and it all went crazy. Got it to my garage, wiped off all the ice and it was fine after that. The only thing I can come up with your issue is either something is blocking the sensor or it is a sensor malfunction/damage.

If you are able to replicate it all the time or easily, it would be easy to show it to the dealer so they can fix it.
